Flying Miniatures - For Fun

If you're interested in WWII warbirds, Dave Diels makes some of the nicest kits on the planet and I highly recommend them.  He fills his kit boxes with not only a wonderful design and plan but he's a modeler and selects first-class balsa, tissue, and decals so when you buy a Diels kit you can feel confident using the materials provided.
This is a prototype for a laser-cut version of Diels Engineering's Douglas SBD-3/4 Dauntless kit.  The laser-cutting of this kit is superb, as is the wood selection.
The kit comes with balsa wheels, canopy, decals, prop, and even some rubber. The Esaki tissue Dave ships with the kits is superb.  For good measure the kit includes a first rate 3-View of the actual aircraft and a sheet that discusses differences between the variants of the Dauntless.
So far I've only built the flying surfaces but they give you some idea of how well the kit goes together.  You can get a sense of the plan as well.  I'll post more as the project progresses.
